New RIB advice

Hi All,

I'm looking at buying my first RIB, probably around the 6/7 metre mark, to be used for South West coastal cruising and general chilling out. Not bothered about speed (We don't get the seas around here for that!) but more looking for comfort, stability and cruising distance.

Majority of the time it will be two adults only. Budget not yet decided, but not l prefer quality over cheap!

I've been motor boating for many years so am OK with the principals and handling etc.

Can anyone recommend what manufacturers/makes I should be looking at, and importantly which I should stay away from?

I don't think there are any particularly "bad" British/European built boats on offer from current manufacturers. Personally I would avoid any re-badged far eastern imports pretending to be Euro built. Of the current home grown offerings, Ribcraft/Redbay would be top of my list & Humber would be bottom. I'd still take a Humber over a Far East import though.
That's all IMO naturally & purely my personal opinion.

I have an absolutely immaculate Zodiac 650 for sale ,
Which is more than capable of the choppy waters , and a comfortable family orientated boat , love it but upgraded to 7.5 Ribeye as we needed more space for our growing family
