New rib

I am looking to purchase a new rib for sport use. I require it to have a seating capacity of at least 10. I would like it to be for sale without an engine as I already have one. I would be intrested in any boats people are selling

Welcome to RIBnet Henry ! That's a rather unusual first post if you don't mind me saying so

perhaps if you tell us exactly what lump you have at hand ( inboard / outboard , new / used ) you might get a better fit of replies......

Regards......Bern

Joined this website to purchase new boats and to share my knowledge with other. The boat I have at the moment is to small for my new engine. I have a 90hp mariner. I would be looking for a craft similar to the ribeye A600

You'll need far more than 90 horses to push 10 pax around, more metres than 6 too[emoji57]

I would suggest that 90hp is the probably the lower ( smaller ) end of what might be required to push a 6m sports rib . That size rib would probably only seat 4-6 people anyway unless you intend to sit them on the tubes which will be frowned upon for most purposes ( especially " sport " ) . You would probably have trouble even getting on the on the plane with 10 bodies on a 6m rib with only 90 horses , but hang around and see what others suggest ? Good luck anyway !

( I had 5 adults and two infants on my 5.85 only yesterday and that was crowded just tootling along at displacement speed )

You need at least 50hp/ton bear minimum to get a boat onto the plane.
To get decent "sports boat" performance maybe twice to three times that.

If you're looking to accomodate "at least 10" you're probably looking at 7mtrs+.

That's two tons of boat +10 crew at 75Kg = 750Kg +fuel and gear 250Kg.

That's three ton. 250 - 300hp maybe ?

You're going to have to rethink this.

Maybe sell the 90hp, I note an 8.5m cobra with twins is for sale on the forum, it will handle 10 people with some comfort and is more the sort of thing you need for 10.

A friend has a 6m RIB with a 100hp. We went out on it with 9 the other day and it handled well. We towed a skier behind it without issue.

I think he means like this:

http://www.ibagreece.com/img_bank/bo...humb/458/4.jpg

So that one on the mini sun pad plus one on the suicide seat - so bay hopping in nice weather presumably rather than wave hopping on a long cruise.

I wouldn't fancy sitting up front of the console on the northeast coast anyday

Horses for courses I suppose. If that really is only a 6m, then fair play to Ribeye for shoehorning all those seats in.

The boat in question is fantastic. We used it for watching us ski. It kept up with the other boat we where using to town with without any problem. It was fully laden. With its 100hp is was faster than the solid hulled speedboat with a 90. And yes it is a 6m boat

Whatever that 100hp engine is I want it, 9 people and skier and it out runs a 90hp speedboat. I think you should buy your mates ribeye as that sounds great.
