I emerged from behind the curtain on Tuesday, however it was a Ukraine hotel window curtain. Plenty of fresh air was required after a few of nights out on the local Vodka, and eating the local meat.

enlarge it a bit and you are looking for the car park and view point (in blue) on the B2177 West of the A3. Car park on the south side and pub on the north side of the road. Nearest train stations are Cosham and Portchester but not a frequent service. Sure one of us could drop you off at Fareham or Pompey on the way home if you need.

Bruce would not know how to post a map here but this was on a previous thread (by Mark) from the last meeting. I think all who followed it made it, unless some are still driving around Portsmouth 
1) M27 J12 Take the 1st slip (A3?). Straight on at the traffic lights. 1st exit at next r/about (A3). 2nd left to B 2177 (slip road near top of hill). Churchillian is 1/2 mile on right. The entrance is immediatly past a car sales place. Car Park at rear of pub.
2) Go via Waltham Chase & Wickham. Left at the r/about past Wickham (Filling station on corner). 1/4 mile, right on to B2177 by the church. Follow that road past Southwick. Straight on at the r/about. 1st exit at r/about at the top of Portsdown Hill. Pass Fort Widley on left, and pub is on the left.
