My Boat got a Parking Ticket Today

I'm not sure if this is common knowledge, its the first time for me anyway, but wanted to pass my experiences on. Today whilst moored at the Town Quay, Cowes I returned to my boat to find a ticket stuck to the windscreen requesting payment of Harbour dues.
I had the option of hailing the Harbour Launch on ch 69 or sending a cheque to the harbour master or even phoning up and paying by credit card.

Seems times are a changing.

Used to be that half the time I could get away without seeing the Harbour master. Not now it seems.

Today I called him up on the radio and paid my dues.

I've only paid once when moored at the Town Quay, the many other times I've not seen the Harbour Master.

You were probably just unlucky to be moored there when he came past.

Dito. Hardly ever pay. Weird; I got a parking ticket yesterday. Oddly there wasn't a fine, it just told me to move my car

I think thats why they've started to issue tickets. I've not always paid in the past. But by isssuing the ticket they have a record. Probably means they can send one of the office staff from the Harbour masters office down now and again to collect old dues.
