Monoski pull

Is 90hp enough to easily get up on a monoski? Potentially behind a 5M or 5.4 searider

When I was younger I used to just about do a deep water start with a 90hp Yamaha on a 5.4 Searider. Trouble with the Searider was that it takes time to drain the flooding hull which has a massive effect on the acceleration.

We used to also use a 5.3m Humber attaque at the same time with Yamaha 60hp and that was better for pulling a mono from a deep water start.

90hp is more than enough for a mono skier but as phantom says blocking the flooding hull would help

I learned to water ski behind a Sea Swirl with a 90hp. Then quickly bought a wakeboard and never looked at water skis the same. I have wakeboarded behind a Boston Whaler with a 25hp. Get a wakeboard, put a valve on the flooding hull, to keep it full, and go wakeboarding! More HP is always better.
