You've obviously never been in the carpark outside the Churchillian at chucking out time on the second Monday of the month!

Quite often several car boots get opened, and 'Stuff' gets swapped from one boot to another.

Its almost as good as Bartertown, but without Tina Turners legs and Mel Gibsons dodgy accent.

My best suggestion for saving money is to learn to do stuff for yourself.
Often the professionals make things sound difficult to protect the illusion that it's too difficult to do yourself and that you must pay them.
It's also far more satisfying.

Normally known as car sharing with cars, what about Rib sharing.

You tell me your going out and I come down and take a seat on your boat. That then saves me on launching fees, fuel, tow car fees, trailer storage and above all RIB fees.

So your saving me money by letting me take a seat on your boat rather than me spending my own money!

I have been very lucky with free stuff.

I was given a very nice 42" Plasma TV becuase 1 of the removable speakers was crackling.

I was given a very nice old sheep trailer - it's made from aluminium and I use it to haul around all my other free stuff. I get free firewood for my woodburner and also pick up free old cooking oil for my landrover - which is also great for chainsaw lube.

I spotted in my local freeads a freezer free to a good home. It was in Llanelli so I thought it would be something seriously scabby from a council house. When i manged to find the house it was a big mansion and the freezer was like new - prob never been used.

I had my 5 ton milling machine free along with a load of tools etc. Also had a free suzuki jeep and god knows what else.

The problem is all my bargains aren't really free at all - becuase it costs me £600 a month to rent my unit to put it all in...............

oh and I had a free sailing boat!!!

Work part time for a skip company. You will soon discover that people have no idea what they are throwing away. Cash Converters and Ebay will be your friend for life.

I brought home working radio controlled yachts, complete nearly new PCs, laptops, 1950s Scalextric sets,Cambridge Audio amps, Mission audio gear etc etc. You name it, I probably sold it. One of the lads even got given a running and MOTable GPZ600R wih all the documents.

Oh, and the pride of my finds-rescued from in front of the yard dozer-the only one I didn't sell immediately and will never get rid of is one of these:-

Jimbob is still in the lead, i decided the nights out with Dave Manning are putting people off coming up with good ideas so he's of the prize list.

to recap

Swapshop 1st place so far
source electronics from cost effective suppliers
Use ASAP supplies
and learn to do things yourself

any more ideas.

I'll give you another big money saving tip. Get your trailer bearings from a bearing supplier and not the trailer manufacturer take the old one to the supplier and say gimme some of these It's a lot cheaper especially if you have a 4 wheel trailer

Anyway, another money saving idea:

Register as a training school and claim the tax back (approx 50%) on all the fuel you use.
Whadya think Roguey?
