Lymington river trot moorings

Has anyone tried out Lymington river fore and aft trot moorings? I have had an offer for one.

Interested in access to boat. Traffic, wash, security and a rib on that type of mooring.

Thanks gt

I had a mooring on Fortuna Dock for several years. Excellent, no problems.

I'm not too sure of the question you are asking. Unless you are referring to moorings above the railway bridge, these are generally always available and I did consider one. What put me off is the access to the mooring, unless its at the top of the tide you have to negotiate river mud. It will be impossible to keep the boat clean. Also the dinghy park, below the railings, is very exposed to vandalism. I decided it was too much money for too little benefit.

Hi this is a fore and aft parallel to Fortuna. Dingy storage is extra. I was concerned about passing river traffic and ferries making it a bumpy spot for the boat primarily and access to the boat via dingy.

Thanks. Gt

I had that type originally. River traffic will disturb the boat. It will depend a lot on the size and freeboard of your boat.

The charge for the tender is standard. Tender park is always crowded. Paddle out to mooring (far side of river?) can be difficult especially with easterly or westerlys (there or back).

Having said that, if you dont want it, I'll rent it from you [emoji3][emoji3].
