Chris

We stayed for 7 days at Inverbeg holiday park in August 2008 , the loch is very nice but you'll probably get bored after the first week, if you're on the the southern part of the loch the rangers will jump on you if you speed @ the island.

I would look at launch sites @ Helensburgh to give you access to Gare loch, loch Long etc & Isles of Bute and Arran.

...and if you get bored with the loch, assuming you are staying at the south end, it's a short hop over the hill to Helensburgh & the entire Firth of Clyde........

Tim M - what Loch Lomond did you drive round?????

Also if you do decide to drive "round" the loch there's a good real ale pub at Kilmahog.......

I would agree, you could easily spend a week on Loch Lomond and then the Clyde is short drive away with tons of places to launch from and loads of places to see, your not that far from going up to the other side of the Mull of Kintyre which is stunning, again loads of places to launch and stay.
