It was with a sense of history that I went up to Coniston a couple of months ago to try for a record, and we used pretty much the same course. Whilst a lot of stuff is called Bluebird (including the cafe at the slipway) it is mostly done with a bit of taste, and there is a lot of memorabilia for sale such as pictures along with the paper weights and coffee mugs! 41 years ago now!
