Largs Yacht Haven!

Largs Yacht Haven!

Any one any contacts for dry berthing on the Firth of Clyde?

I have just been informed that my 5/6 ton Redbay RIB has wreaked their John Deere tractor!!! I said to the prat in the office that I find this very strange as Redbay use the same type of tractor. "Yes but we do more launches" Well if that is so how come Redbay are launching their 20 ton 16.5mtr using the same type of tractor unit? No answer! My response was I will take my boat & business elsewhere!!!

As it stands it looks like I will have no choice but to leave my RB 11 at Cushendall after our Easter holiday!

My next RIB will definitely be a 8.5mtr that I can tow meaning that I am in full control of my boating destiny!!!

Well if you are leaving even 'that one' at Largs I wouldnt count on it .. they managed to fook up my instructions and flood the hull full whilst up on the hard by not taking the bungs out on the same size of boat.

Sounds like they are talking pish .. that JD will easily handle your 11 .. more like the launch area is too shallow and too crowded so they cant manouvre it I'd suspect cos they are trying to jam in too many boats for the £££'s

probably more like they dont want big boats on the dryberth because they loose money over on water berths they were happy to take big boats a few years ago when the marina was full but now it isnt they want you to pay another 50% for a pontoon berth

I used to keep our 290searay sundancer there which was over there length limit which your boat is too so in fairness we had it good while it lasted were currently debating over where to keep our new boat when it goes back in in a few weeks its in fairly quay just now but i realy dont want to give largs the 4k+ they want for an annual berth

fairly quay do good storage packages which include lift out & back in for over winter but dont have a slip you then have to find a summer berth elsewhere but the guys are good to deal with & helpfull
