I did a little bit of damage to the keel protector/guard as I was pulling the boat off the beach and onto the trailer at the back end of the season. The swinging arm was a bit stiff on the trailer (and in the wrong position) and it’s nicked a chunk out of the rubber and pulled a small section off. Thankfully, there’s no more damage underneath- it’s just the rubber strip.
Anyone got any experience of either:
- stripping it off and putting a new one on.
- any solutions to repair the hole or fill it?
I've used CT1 and Tec7 for this. Degrease well, nick off any raised edges and fill. If sticking a section, do it first and wedge it in place until it cures, fill next. Dish soap or solvent to smooth off while wet. Mine held up well at the snubber contact on the trailer
