Inner tubes do they work ?

Hi all just after registering, great forum. I got my first boat last month the good news is its a Rib the bad news is the left hand rear section developed a leak from a very messy repair. When I removed the patch I found the rear section of the tube had a 4 foot boey in it along with a shit load of cavity foam!!! What amazes me is that it actually worked for a while. The rest of that section of tube seems in good nick. My plan of attack is to reglue the seam back up, put a big patch on the inside and then patch the outside as per instructions given in another section of this site.
It’s a hypalon rib. On this side of the pond it is easier for me to get weaver 2001 instead of bostik 2402.

1) Is the weaver 2001 glue as good as the bostic 2402 ?

2) If I can’t get it airtight again in your opinion would putting in an inner tube (geminiindustriies.co.uk) work?
