In The Market For A Rib

Hi , i am sure you get lots of threads like this but i need some help.

I currently have a yamaha fx 140hp jet ski which is going up for sale as we want a rib , i have been looking at 5.85 and 6.00 mtr ribs but what sort of power would i need as we do a lot of water skiing and have a 3seater ringo toy which the jet ski pulls with no problem at all. The other problem i have is that my brother has a fairline 38 targa which does around 40knots and i know its a boy thing but i dont want to be slower than him .
we have set ourselfs a £20000 budget and i would like to be in the newst boat i can with a low hour outboard which i want to be 4 stroke .

we will get a lot of use out of the boat as we live in warsash on the hamble river with 3,4,5 or 6 people on the boat at one time . i know its boring but i would love some advice .

150hp on a 6m rib should give you 40+ kt and be a good power unit for waterskiing.

Excellent all round boat is 6.0M 150HP ... will pull 2 mono's up on a deep water start, ideal cruiser, ideal family boat, and a very smart looker in comparison to many ribs .... I am an avid water skier and have had one for the last 2 years .... fantastic boat .... and guess what ... its for sale!! (I am upgrading to a 7.5 Metre)

thanks for your emails and replys that cobra looks like a great boat , at work today so i will do some homework when i get home .
