That's pretty fast for a heavy boat with a deep v hull.
What prop are you using?

38kts is great but I get a sharp stabbing pain down my left side at much over 40kts and a strange noise from the seat next to me
but she does help to launch etc

What pitch are you running? I have a 4 blade prop which is pretty good but seems to peter out at higher speeds - I thought more blades were better at lower speeds???

Thats been my finding ... when I went to a four from three, top end was not a lot different, all the benefit was at the bottom end, the four is a better prop IMO

Just put a 19p stainless prop on mine and it's now a comfortable 45k boat. A bit of Solent tide got 47k on the GPS but to be fair this was then 44k on the way back.
Still pulls me out on the wakeboard comfortably as well

Actually we had one of our leisure boats do 64 mph with my inexperienced girlfriend driving it - 250 Verado, it does over 50 mph without any trouble at all unless it gets bumpy!

Zodiac Medline with 60 yam 4stroke
30knots flat out with 2 kids, wife, dog and the other crap you end up storing and taking out with you when you have big lockers !!!
but still had 20 knots with 9 in it (big teenagers)
Andy

begs the question, if you ejected the wife & big lockers .. and the dog, you might have gained 4 knots.... come on floater this about 'max' performance

We are using the same one. On our boat, acceleration and planing speed became much better. Top-speed remained the same. 51,6kn

Would the boat necessarily go faster if your wife doesn't have big lockers???
