Highest tide in 30yrs on Mersey...

Looking out over the mersey from 14th floor of the plaza and there's still an hour to go until high tide. Storm winds are blowing the waves over the dock walls already.

Don't think my Avon 2.4m with 2hp would last long today.

most of the eastern shore dock walls are being breached now. 14th floor not the best for the wind!!

Will Fred Talbot be OK on his floating map in Albert Dock?

(I know, it hasn't been there for years)

Down here the waves have picked up remarkably quickly:

3 hours till high on the North East coast, tide's well in and the sea's still building. Could be very interesting round here in a couple of hours.

Can't see much with iPhone and dark light, but Birkenhead ferry is having fun in the wind over tide. Winds dropped off now though.
