High speed boat operations forum

Some impressive ribs:

The 2 that caught my attention:

This one is fully capsized and self rights itself

KNRM Nh1816 (SAR 1906) All Weather lifeboat – HSBO

Not a rib but great speed and handling:

Combat Boat 90H DockstaVarvet – HSBO

we did a bit of magazine work with KNRM when my daughter lived and worked in Ijmuiden NL for several years as skipper of a fast twin Hamilton jet boat.

She was also the only girl and only Brit on the lifeboat there-a 60feet Arie Visser class rib. Amazing bit of kit! Twin 1k hp on jets . We a phone call from her one night whilst we were in the Uk to say she was off Schevingen. To my response that it was blowing a hooligan where I was the answer was its the same in Holland, there are waves the size of our house passing the boat so we have come out to sea to play with the neighbouring lifeboat on exercise. There is a website for KNRM IJmuiden and all their jobs are on video. Great bunch of guys both on the boat and the shore staff, and all the other boats we visited. And some very tough conditions there-loadsa respect for all of them.
