Help /what do you think scam?

Hi
I have my Rib for sale on here and gumtree I have just received a email from my
gumtree add is this some sort of scam ?
She urgenty needs the rib for a family member and she is 100% ok with my advert ,she willing to pay the full asking price via paypal, she can't come and view the rib because she works offshore and has no time so she wants to send her courier to pick the rib up and I should remove the add.
Any thoughts

Scam. I'm not quite sure how "she" makes any money from it, but its clearly not legit.

She either sends fake PayPal payment emails and you don't check actual PayPal acct, or she makes real PayPal. A man comes and collects then her courier turns up 2 hours later. She asks PayPal for money back as you didn't supply goods. She will tell you it's all protected but actually it's not. You need to prove who stole your rib and prosecute them .

Full asking price unseen... payment by electronic means...

Two of the prime alerts for a scam.

Scamtastic.
If you read faqs on any selling website you'll read that exact scenario.

Defo a scam.
I had a similar thing last year when selling an outboard. Guy working offshore , 100% happy with advert and price. Wanted to send payment and courier. Stupidly for a moment i was taken in but i wouldnt have sold it without someone seeing it first anyway. If it sounds too good to be true it usually is, this set the alarm bells ringing.
Liking cm69ws idea though!

Actually, thinking about it, is it actually an elaborate phishing scam to get your PayPal login details? Actually nicking the boat is quite a lot of effort, and high risk.

Yep............This is exactly how it works. All they need to do is take out an action with paypal and get their money back, I think they have about four days to do it, they're off with the boat and the money and your insurance will wash their hands of you because you "gave" them the boat.

Maybe once the deal is done, she'll pay a bit extra so he can pay the courier cash? "courier" arrives and gets paid - says he'll be back in an hour. Money vanishes from Paypal as boat "wasn't available"?

Gumtree is plagued with these scams. Had an identical one aimed at me while selling a car a few months back.

Total scam.

I had similar results when I posted a boat for sale in the USA. People offering to buy it sight unseen for asking price. Stick to cash on delivery in person and you'll be ok.

I like following up on these scammers and stringing them along until the very end. Probably petty...but it does amuse me.
