Help please

I am a new owner and new to this site. Please bear with me. I have just bought a 2001 zodiac hurricane. I believe it was outfitted with twin 150hp motors. Not sure of motor brand but can probably find out. Can I put on twin 115s instead? If so, would there be a major refitting charge? Also, any idea how much I should pay for 10-year old twin 115 hp yamahas serviced yearly and in working condition. Thanks so much.

My reading of the OP is that it WAS fitted with twin 150s but isn't any more and therefore has no engines. Which is why the make of 150s is unknown.

First of all going from twin 150's to twin 115's wouldn't be a problem apart from it would be slower, It was originally designed with a maximum of twin 200HP, the boat would weigh roughly 2700-3400lbs empty but twin 115's would push it along nicely.
For fitting out, are there any control boxes or engine harnesses left, if so they may be utilized but if not does the Yamaha's come with controls etc? All that has to factor in the cost of refitting charges. As for price on engines of that era, i'll get back to you.

Thank you very much. I should mention that it has a cabin so I assume that would make it even heavier. Twin 115s still okay?

This is a 7m Hurricane with a ali cabin? IMO, twin 115s will be a bit underpowered. You'll be getting about the equivalent of a single 175hp motor. It would work but you'll be flogging those motors at high revs to get along. Those old yammies like their motion lotion, so running at high revs will soon get expensive.

Got it. Than you very much. Clearly, I have so much to learn. Love the boat. Just hope I haven't bitten off more than I can chew. Certainly appreciate this forum for advice. Thanks, again.
