<shrug/> Its just a pre-made version of the 2 x croc clips and a bit of parachord. Doesn't stop your hat flying off, but means you don't lose it.

Seal skinz hat. Waterproof and sunproof for your bald head and no brim so it won't fly off. Then stick some sunglasses and sun cream on your face.

Turn the hat backwards, or use a hat without a "sunroof"....

I'm finding that my undercrackers give me a wedgie in anything above a F5. Can anyone recommend any suitable grundies for ribbing? :-)

Surely you could just tie your hat on to your LJ? Easy with baseballs, less so with a bucket hat. So wear a baseball. Problem has existed since man first set foot on boat wearing hat and sunnies for that matter!,

The problem may be with where you buy them. If you get them from the Pound shop, you will be overpaying if 50p worth is up your arse when caught in a blow!

Since I live in sunny California I have wanted a hat that has a full brim. I found one I really liked at a gift shop in Hawaii and it was well loved for many many years until it suspiciously disappeared (The ex girl friend hated it). Replacing it was not so easy. First I even went back to Hawaii and could not find one again. So began the long shopping hours on the internet. Eventually I found something very similar that is called a " heavy brushed cotton surf hat". They come with a chin strap, and at speed the brim does fold back. Not really a bother though as you get used to changing your head angle a little and using the wind to force the brim where you want it. The brim is actually pretty stiff. Tilley's are nice, but kinda old manish.

Although I can't remember exactly which store I bought mine from, here is one store I had saved.

Nice, but Hawaii is a bit far from the UK.

At 1 litre per km Im going to need 11,233 litres of fuel. At normal prices that makes it a £14,928 hat

I haven't checked, but I think that's the most sensible and considered post you've ever made. It's classic advice, brushes the guff aside and it bl@@dy works.

And that is why you can buy them from Australia shipped directly to your door (See link I provided above). Or go and take a vacation in Australia Of course they are made in China so that might work too.

Typical summer head gear in San Francisco.

Under Armour HeatGear hood. You can pull the face cover down. It keeps your neck from getting sun burnt.

Fiji has incredible diving. One of my friends did a three month stint there. Just standing by a pool of water it was incredible to see how much life it held. Have fun there!

Personally I am not a grass hat wearer, but must admit I have had a few woven cowboy hats.
