Sorry to resurrect this thread but i went in one of these the other day....as previously said 3 engines, very fast and the rough weather capability was phenomenal!

What has been said in the thread is more or less true. They do have 3 Seatek engines @1000bhp. We took it out to Studland Bay area but weather was pretty crap but didnt seem to affect it. Got up to 40knots quite easily and could of gone faster. Very well equipped inside, all the "nice gear" etc.
Did a mid journey transfer onto a Halmatic Arctic 28...a lot wetter on that! Then went back into Poole.

They are unlikely to be 1000hp each the military units are normally 630-650hp from what I gather detuned for reliability

All together they push out 1000 but due to low hours between overhaul, they keep them at a economic limit. But actually compared to other boats that were there, they are small fry. And im sure all of you around Poole area have seen them now and then, keeping to the Harbour speed limit of course!

I may have misunderstood are you saying 1000 for all 3 500hp each that would be more like it, I believe maybe up to around 800ish hp is used in some military pursuit vessels around the world, however you only have to look at offshore powerboat racing to see the reliability problems if they are pushed hard for a race lets say 5 Seatek boats start 2 finish not what you need when out on extended duty in a military situation so high end HP not desirable

True, sorry for not being more precise but thats all 3 producing near on 1000.
The newer boats (the grey looking ones) they have are powered by a different manufacturer whose service intervals are longer.
