There are two "m"s in Flummoxed, my dear chap.

Please desist with this schoolyard one upmanship

There's no one upmanship here, lost an 'm'.

I simply don't understand what went on on the Tames.

I really don't.

What was the sequence of events and what vessels were involved?

"A foam filled little Zodiac with three jets and two tanks that struggled to Tower Bridge whilst being towed by the RNLI that could tow a tanker with some daughters waving?"

It's not the story telling, simply the course of events.

Took the little Zodiac out today on the Thames,
and went from Putney to passed Tower Bridge and was on the way back when the engine died.
I had a look at the fuel.
My son and my girlfriends daughter thought they would wave at the E class lifeboat and they came over as they do.
When they changed the fuel tank over, the engine still didnt start, so they used a 3rd tank as the second one had a faulty primer bulb.
The engine was fine, but they insisted on towing us for 1/2 a mile to make sure we were ok. Their E class had just been refitted with D6 430hp water jets and they told me it could tow 120 tons. The E class sponsons seem to be foam rather than Hypalon.

there..not too tricky....

This is why I keep banging my head on brick walls, it's so obvious when you see it.
Thanks for that, must step back a bit, but I have to say, I still wouldn't have got all that.

I was bit pissed when I put thread up,

Basic story
Was that we were changing over fuel tanks
When rnli came over and wanted to tow use along side as had 3 children aboard
The boat is called e class
Twin d6s 430 thro Hamilton jets
The crew told me that barge had come adrift and they towed 120 tons with boat
It was built by mts in Liverpool
