good deal or not?

As some of you may know I am changing from my 4m SIB to a 3.5m RIB. I have spotted a few and this one is close and in my price range. He is wanting £600 for the boat, the trailer, console and electrics but no motor. I have already got my trusty 25hp tohatsu 2 stroke (soon to be 30hp when it goes for its service).
I am just a bit worried about the age and the signs of wear. Is that year of avons any good? Or is it a bit past its sell by date? am not bothered about aesthetics, just performance and good longevity. So what are these like as boats?

And the big question; what speed would you expect from this boat with a 30hp 2 stroke? Fast enough to keep up with the rib cruises?

Avon Rib Boat | eBay

Also, What should I expect to sell my honwave t40 2006 for? It is in pretty much immaculate condition except a few scuffs. So no patches or anything.

Looks like it just needs a good clean.

Huge fun with 30 on it. Especially with remotes. :-)

No idea why you think the tubes look shot...

Looks like the usual mold stains on white tubes to me...mistaken by the seller for sun damage?

Where does it say sun damage?...am I going blind?

well I will go and view it before it ends and find out for you

Would it be a good idea to bring some soap and a sponge to check for leaks? What are the obvious signs to spot which would make me decide no?

So a 3.5 on an ok trailer with the bits......I reckon 600 would be ok....assuming it's all ok and not about to sink!..push for 550.... ;-)

Speed wise unless it's flat water you'll never keep up with big ribs....but we do of course have Sib club to cater for this :-)

Boat looks alight to me. Tubes will probably clean up with some elbow grease and toxic chemicals

The RIB is antifouled, which is a bit nasty and suggests it has spent time on the water/in the sun. It looks OK however. Let's face it, £600 won't fill some RIB's fuel tanks, so best not quibble over £50 here or there...

Freston Jr., when your parents get wind of this, you're soooo busted

Depends, I'm not actually a Knacker

If the kit is good and it's like might not be seen again for a while, then I'd bite the bullet and secure it - damn the £50, it wouldn't buy a bottle of Corryvreckan.

However, if there's no pressure and it's not Pukka kit, then by all means haggle a bit

I am 15...£50 is a lot to me. Trust me, haggle away I will. Hell if I can get him down to £500 I will try. If you don't ask you don't get eh?

Oh that's easy. It's got a hard bottom so it's SAFER and USES LESS FUEL.

Nonsense, of course, but hey..
