Gecko Helmets

Anyone know anywhere in the southampton area that sell them?

Or do you have to order direct?

Thanks!

Worth it tho' Ben.

Makes all the difference on a nasty day. Or for longer trips when the rain is like needles in your face.

As the Jackeens say really worth it when the weather turns. Should be standard issue really.

I'm sure they would have some stock items of the basic stuff.

My matt black one came pretty quick with a standard smoked visor so they must have some stock.

Spoke to Gecko last week and they could supply flame red which is a bit orange from stock. Everything else was to order between 2 and 4 weeks.

The Gecko Braces are good, especially in red.

I managed to get hold of a chinese fighter pilot's helmet for using on mine. Smoked and clear visors. Quite comfortable too.

Same as this one. They aren't made of steel like the ad says-they are GRP.

Gecko helmets are expensive, ok some might argue its a small price to pay for you safety. From reading other threads the alternative to a helmet and visor is a pair of skiing goggle.

Having looked at a pair does the soft sponge surround not become soaked and therefore leak water into the goggles. Motorcross goggles are the same with the sponge surround but they get coated in mud and water etc so presumably they must be ok.

Your thoughts please on whether they would be sufficient to enable you to see through rain and spray without having to empty them every few minutes like a badly fitting pair of swimming goggles?

Gray,
May I suggest you do a search on gecko helmets you will see lots of threads on them.
I have a yellow older style one which lives in the cupboard, the Delta ones from Comunica are much more comftable.

Yeah I wouldn't pay that for one either. I paid £25 for mine.
