OK guys
I need someone to confirm this flooding deck.
Does the whole deck get flooded as in an inch or so of water at rest ??
ie does the water cover your feet like standing in a puddle ???
Still trying to find out how the whole system works so if any one can give me a link to a video or an explanation on how it works would be great

It’s not a flooding deck, at least shouldn’t be....... it’s a chamber under the deck that floods there are holes in bow let water in and a larger hole in stern.

As you stop water floods in creating mass and lowering boat until tubes are sitting on water.

As the you set off the bow raises the inlet holes clear of water and the rear hole let’s water out as you get up to speed and onto the plain the deck stays as dry as any rib does and has bailers (Elephant trunks) and bilges pumps etc to get water off the deck. Loads of pics online of how they look rigged the lower centre hole on stern should be ope the higher ones generally have trunks or bungs

Thanks HDAV thats what i sort of figured but the 2 trunks on the stern made me think it could be the whole deck. I have still to lift the deck to check out what is under it.

The trunks are to let water out that comes over the tubes most ribs will float even with water on the deck I was once almost up to the transom......... but that’s not ideal and does slow you down a lot........

Some let the trunks down underway others keep them up until needed..... normally there is a short rope to a cleat that keeps them up and clear of water and prop......

Its the old school discontinued Northstar F210 . I do relative long trips when using the rib and when comparing actual consumption when refueling to the flow results its surprisingly accurate. The flow impeller get stuck every second year and then little marine grease around it and the it works again....

Think FloScan used to do decent quality flow meters, maybe wort checking.

Thanks mate .
I have in my diesel RIB the Maretron installed and quite happy with it but for am installation on an outboard probably not first choice .
Was looking at the Lowrance NMEA 2000 flow meter .
