Fenders

Hi

I just thought I would ask if anyone uses fenders with their RIBs.

I know that with inflatabe tubes practically the whole boat is one big fender, but I have noticed some damage caused by tying up on concrete walls, or wooden jetties come to that.

However, most fenders seem the wrong shape to protect the tubes. I have found a very long thin one (I think used for narrowboats) that look promising - but not sure.

Comments please chaps (and chapesses)

I do

The pontoons in Chichester Marina are just too high for the rubbing strake and rest on top of the tube. I use 4 small ones (450L x 100D) tied to the grabline rings.

Fenders

So do I:

Pontoons play havoc with the tubes, especially where there is a large wash.

During the Americas Cup week in IOW last year they were invaluable.
