FAO scorpion owners

question for the scorpion owners on here

is there access to tighten/slacken the A frame after the tubes have been bonded on??
also access to pull more cables etc???

I have bought the shakespeare rear molding which is very similar and wondered how best to affix the A frame .....I thought on fitting some waterproof circular hatches on the inside accesible from lifting the seat this way they arent seen from the outside........on the scorpion i saw i couldnt get access to see if this was the case

also whilst down in lymington i looked at a scorpion and had a shake of its A frame mounting and it seemed quite flexible almost to the point of bursting the fibreglass , the fibreglass moulding flexed rather than the A frame....and that wasnt a hard shake either ....is this normal or has wear and tear got to it. The rib i looked at had a ski point on the top of the A frame but i dont think you could risk pulling anything from it

are any others like this or was it just an anomily ...although the rib didnt look old

cheers

Ian

Hi Ian,

I'm lost! If you lift the seat, why does that not give you access to the bolts for the a-frame?? Why would you need an access panel, where is it fitting to?

Agree on that new console by the way!

No ....the inner side of the seat is blanked off from where the A frame would bolt through .......just wondering if all the work is done first before the tubes are fitted or if there are access hatches ...for access later .....just wondering that was all .......
when i get home i can start on fitting the seat but the A frame wont arrive till early march
doin hatches would be my best bet i think ....PIA doin them though
The scorpion i saw worried me a bit that i could move the A frame and wondered if it needed nipping up a bit

MIne is mk1 scorpion. You can access the bottom of the a frame from inside the rear seat moulding but it is very restrictive! I tried to run a new cable up thru a frame and gave up! I dont think the newer ones are in anyway fenced off different from older scorpions like mine! Its a sturdy unit! Revenger glass box section into it and drill and tap i believe

We had a new V tronic Ariel fitted with lead
No problem running it down the A frame a though the trunking to the consul
As for the A frame, my son is 6ft.5in and wake boards from the top mount
its all rock solid, never looked to see if we could get access, the only A frame that nearly came off for us was on a Cobra,
If that A frame you saw at Scorpion was lose it will be for a reason,
