Expensive day in Swanage!

thanks to the easterly today seems a few people have been caught out! Atleast 2 boats have been wrecked up! One's a maxum cuddy thats come in & got stuck on the rocks by the public slipway. Apparently the coastgaurd have dragged it up the slipway out of the water now (without a trailer) so could be a bit messy now!
And the other which ive been told about but not seen is a small sailing boat wedged up the storm drain by the mowlem theatre & now has no mast!

Sounds like neither of the owners for the boats have been found...definatly hope they have insurance!

That's not good. All the experienced boats take cover inside Poole harbour in easterlies. I've got the day of today so may take a drive down along the front......

I was in Swanage the day before and noticed the hire boats on their mornings. They looked really vulnerable. Even on Saturday they were taking small waves over the bow. God knows what it was like on Sunday. It's a real shame to see any boat washed up or sunk after a storm.

Whenever theres a big swell he never gets them in! Theyve sunk before & he'll let them sink again. Been washed up loads before!

Not a new concept though , the RNLI had 4 water jet propelled lifeboats in service way back over a hundred years ago .

Luke - that boat you showed in your original post travelled past my office this afternoon. It was a pretty poor sight. I just happened to be at the window with my phone as it passed us. I suspect its beyond repair, poor guy.

You must be in the A1office or Gate of India? Real shame about the boat, might just be cosmetic? I hope the insurance comes through.
