looks great think were giving clachtol in august a miss next year and just going to arisaig june . I gather you moored for the week on the pontoon that looks good . but where did you launch from the slip in the boat yard ??. last year we launched off the beach at the campsite and it was an interesting route out when the tide came in avoiding all the just submerged rocks.the pontoon in malaig would be much better

Hi beerbelly, yes we launched there it's the only one in Mallaig now but if low tide you can drive right onto the shingle as there is a steep drop which has been dredged to make it possible for launching at all states of tide 👍

Cheers Kerny do I just ask in the boatyard about using the slip and pontoon or harbour master for the mooring

We actually stayed just outside Arisaig (if you pm me I'll pass on the details) and put the Boats in at Malaig a few miles away which worked really well!
The Boatyard slip there we found out can be used at all states of the Tide....as there is a drop off and with a 4x4 you can drive onto the pebbles to launch recover,if like us you happen to be on big Springs.
The Harbourmaster is a Grand Chap as said...and most helpful.
Malaig was a nice surprise with some decent Pubs Hotels and Facilities and a Large Co Op which stays open late.
The Garage is easily walkable and the Harbour has wheeled trolleys which you can use for Fuel runs....I think the owner of the small Garage must still have a smile on his Face! We all filled up there and he told the site owner where we stayed we were his Best EVER customers!
