Ellen Mcarthur coming in to Cowes

Not sure if any of you are aware that Ellen is due to sail back into Cowes on her yacht B & Q this coming Friday (25th Feb) at about 2 pm. She will sail paralell with the prommenade weather permitting. If the weather's rough apparently she will be brought shoreside by a RIB and meet the public on foot along the prommenade. Got this info from the Isle of Wight Council web site where it also says that they are handing her the freedom of the town later in the afternoon and that will be followed by a formal reception.

Wish we could be there to see her - unfortunately will be busy working
Would love to see any photos if any of you manage to get out there

Tim, if you do come down, fancy a petrol sharing scheme? I.e., I donate towards fuel, you bring down the rib...

I do indeed have a handheld, it's on charge as we speak.

Also have a GPS handheld, not that it's an ocean voyage...

Right, boss is using his Rib.

If people various were around on friday, would be more than happy to contribute to fuel, and bring along any electronics I had that were helpful.

Really we need to work if anybody is coming (as I don't have a boat!) where we are launching from, and at what time...

Ah well, plenty of time for that when you come down to Pompey.

SDGANDER, are you still likely to be around and after a fuel contributing passenger with a VHF?
