Dunstaffnage

Hoping to meet some friends in their yacht at Tobermory, Mull in a few weeks. Is Dunstaffnage an Ok launch site? Only been out of Craobh for ERR 2011 and this will save me 20 miles or so, car and boat. Is it any use? Slip OK for a reasonable range of tides? OK to self launch with 4x4? Emailed marina but replies have been a little sketchy.

It's been a few years since I was last there, but the slipway is pretty good as far as I remember. We launched a 7.5m diesel RIB behind a Merc van with no problems.

Only thing to say is make sure you have EVERYTHING you need on the boat out the car before you go to park - it's an awfy long walk back to the slip..... (don't ask me how I know! )

Other option (as you are coming from the North) Is Linnhe Marine. On the A828 just before the climb up to the Castle Stalker viewpoint assuming you are driving south)
Not a huge difference in water distance to the Sound if you go down the west side of Lismore, and what little extra in fuel is offset by the cheaper launch fee!
