For the money they're unbeatable, I had one on my Valiant and it did the job I needed it to do perfectly, I've also seen some pretty old ones that don't look worn out - no, they're not custom fitted or really heavy duty but never heard a word against them.

I bought a Talamex Maxi cover for my 6.2 RIB this year to replace my second large Ducksback cover which I found lost it's waterproofness after 11/2 years. even though I sprayed it with Fabsil I still wasn't as impressed as the first cover I had which was identical to the Ducksback but bought from Bembridge Boats and Outboards.

I'm very happy with the quality of it, a very strong elasticated outside seam. So good in fact you don't really need any bungees to hold it on. It's hasn't got straps however but comes with a length of rope that you can cut to length. It's worth noting however that the smaller sizes are made from a different material than the larger ones, but I'm pleasantly surprised by mine.

Talamex 'Covi' Boat Cover L- XXL from £69.24 - Torquay Chandlers

Torquay Chandlers are very pleasant people to do business with should you choose this route.

I find they don't fit my boat at all - my layout is a double console on a 5.3m plus an A frame, so relatively high admidships, and quite long to spread around the A frome and over the sponsons and none oft he Ducks backs fit - even the largest size. When it rains the water pools in the bow & has ripped the cover. That's more about my baot han the cover to be fair. I've still bought 3 in 6 years!

I'd check the sizes really carefully against your boat

That said for a bespoke cover locally I've been quoted £760 - that's a few ill-fitting Ducks Backs!

2 seasons in and mines good as new. Would def buy another. I don't put mine over the a frame though. For 80 quid you can't really go wrong!

If you want to hang it under the A frame or rear masts I have found those plastic snap type eyelets quite good. Just thread some rope though with knots tied behind to stop it pulling though, just need so sky hooks to fit them to.

I found even the largest size won't wrap round my A-frame and over the sponsons...it's to do with the radius over the console - 3.4m rubbing strake to rubbing strake. They should be good for most boats though

I got my ducksback and then took scissors and a sewing machine to it and made it fit my aframe and also cover the sponsons.

The only problem have to keep sewing it up as I keep ripping holes in it.

Here is my Ducks back cover on my 6.4m Rib. Fits over the A frame no problems. Cover is actualy larger than the dimensions on their website as you can tell by the overhang at the bow which keeps the winch dry!
Very impressed.

Also use the discount code "ducks10" at the checkout to get 10% off.
I recommend their outboard covers too.
