Dry Stacking Southampton

Hello, this is my first post - I'm new to ribbing in the UK and am looking to dry stack my SeaRider either with MDL at Hamble Point or with Premier at Swanwick - does anyone have any experience with either - any preferences?
Much appreciated,
Paul

RIBase
Welcome to the forum.

I've no experience of either of dry stacking at either of them - I keep my boat at Southampton Dry Stack who I would recommend.

Swanwick is a bit of a plod up the river whereas Hamble Point is right on the mouth of the river so you are out of the speed limit almost immediately. There is fuel at Swanwick whereas I think the nearest fuel to Hamble Point is at Port Hamble.

There's a chandlery and cafe at both places although I preferred the cafe at Swanwick the last time I went a couple of years ago.

Getting to the Hamble can be a PITA for traffic.

I keep my rib on the drystack at Swanick and generally very happy with the service there, staff are very friendly and helpful. The only real negative is the trundle up the river but generally I quite enjoy this and would rather do in the Rib than stuck in traffic on the Hamble road which can be terrible. Plus points at Swanick are good road access from the motorway, plenty of parking, fuel berth with reduced price for berth holders, nice cafe and bar and friendly staff. I did look at Southampton Dry Stack which is a bit cheaper, things that put me off were not such a nice location, road access and availability of fuel (think Hythe Marina closest but have to go through lock)
Probably worh visiting the sites and having a chat.
