Cowes Hotels, Recomendations Please

I am taking thre family to Cowes for the weekend & need recomendations for somewhere to stay.

We will be berthing at Cowes Yacht Haven so it needs to be in walking distance from there.

We will need a good sized family room, 2x Adults, 1x 5 year old, & 1x baby (cot will be required).

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Tim.

I would ring The Fountain, http://www.fountaininn-cowes.com as it's only a few paces from the Yacht Haven.

A good alternative is a bungalow at Gurnard Pines http://www.gurnardpines.co.uk and www.hoseasons.co.uk but that's a short taxi ride away. Their springvale bungalows would suit you well.

Id get a taxi from the Yatch Haven to the Travel Inn on the IOW.

Taxi fare was around £15 last time I went.

The advantage of the Travel Inn is that you can cancel the room up to 1pm on the day of travel so if the weather is bad and you cannot make the crossing there no extra cost.

Also a family room should sleep all of you.

I would recommend Rawlings Hotel in Sun Hill, Cowes. Its where Prince William & Harry had a private party on Saturday night!

However, its *not* posh but I think it has a certain charm. I would describe it as shabby-chic. They should make you feel at home.

If trying Rawlings.... avoid too many Moscow Mules, this may lead to the tradition of 'the trying on of the hats' which goes on in in the bar, goodness, you may even get royal nits now!
