Yes just read the article, I would say a few issues were missed out, re causes including the lack of funding for marine police units, easy access to UK by overseas gangs, some pretty inconsistant and poor security practices by some marina's and the fact that police dont stop boats on the road at 3am and take no notice of boats being trailered during the day where the car reg doesn't match the light bar... yikes

To prevent theft, I would recommend living in place where theft doesn't happen...at least as bad.
