color peeling on Caribe

Hey guys,

I have been working on my Caribe MVP10. I picked it up a few months ago as a project. When I picked it up, I thought that someone had painted it white. As a work on her it seems that the fabric was coated white prior to assembly. The upper parts of the tube is peeling in a number of spots, I would like to remove the peeling layer, re-paint the upper sections.

As of now, I have sprayed the white areas with straight Simple Green, and used a scuff pad. Once it starts to dry, its abit easier to peel.

What would you guys recommend for removing this coating?

I am thinking that next year I will look into re-tubing the boat. I just want to make it look decent for the coming season.

Thanks
Tom
