August Race UV protect claims to last up to a year... I usually try to apply it a lot more frequently than that, but with this current chaos I'm stuck around 200 miles away from the boat. She had lovely dark blue tubes when I last saw her & I'm starting to panic that they will be horribly bleached when I get back :-( Any experience of how long it actually lasts ?

Hello again by the way, it's been a while since I was last here ….

Surely it will take longer than a few weeks in the sun to have an impact?

If you don’t want to pay marine tax. Miltons removes black spots and car wax protects the tubes nicely.

Cheers mate. Sound!

Looking at your location, we may well see each other when this situation is over. We normally launch from either Salcombe, Dartmouth or occasionally, Plymouth.

Here's my regime.

tubes on a budget Lemon cif spray used to be the one but I think that's not done any more.
August race definitely works better than most but over priced IMO

Stained white hull, TFR wash then Y10 if really bad

Same for the rest of the boat. Really bad I go for a TFR wash but I don't do it often. Wash and wax is usually a great start for an ordinary wash but be careful with decks, can make them slippy

For protection, autoglym super resin polish then a coat of HD wax.

Worst thing for damaging anything on a boat is the pressure washer. Rips up Sikaflex, flakes paint off so be very careful. Turbo spinny nozzle should only be used for biohazard boats!

All good advice thank you. Particularly about making things slippy and warning about a pressure washer.

I really hope so ! Just another cause of stress while it's sunny out there and I can't do anything about it.
