PD's advice to use TFR followed by 303 Protectant works for me. Amazing combination.

Depends what you mean by clean? If it's a general wash down, then a mild detergent, hot water, and a sponge will work, a green scouring pad can be used for stubborn marks, Fairy Power Spray, etc. Rinse off.

I've used TFR before. It's an irritant, so definately wear gloves. Also look at Rib Shop's products. Their Rib Revive is by far the best product I've used on tubes, quite incredible stuff.

I use the steam cleaner on the trailer & hull. Hose pipe on the topsides, a watering can of warm water on the engine block to rinse the salt off. A couple of times/year, the tubes get the aforementioned TFR & 303 treatment. The trailer gets greased and a spray over with Metect on the non-stainless bits. The power head gets a rinse & blow off with the compressor & then a spray with silicone. Annually, at service time, I remove the side cowls from the leg, clean the midsection & spray with metect.

Metect is here, brilliant stuff.

Thanks for the replies.
we have tap and wash down area at the slip , just wondered what people use for general wash as boatwash is not cheap.
Tubes get UV protection every so often and hull gets polished .
boat is under Ducksback when not in use.
Mick.

I take mine to the nearest car wash, use the soap brush and then rinse off with the lance. Bit of wax on the hull and she looks as good today as day one.
