Check your lifejackets!!

As per the title. Please take a minute to check over your lifejackets if you have not done so recently. I'm normally quite thorough on checking things like this frequently but with having a new baby this year and various poor excuses I haven't looked at them for a few months.

I did another Sea Survival course for work yesterday and it reminded me to check my lifejackets. - 2 different makes, all different ages and amounts of use / lack of use.

All four lifejackets were failures!!

2 had cylinders that had fully or partially unscrewed, 1 had fired at some point and must have been sneakily been packed away without anyone telling me, 1 had the green cap missing off the firing head.

Yep, good practice to check kit at the start of the season. I've used Marine Warehouse before for re-arm kits. Lifejacket Rearming Kits, CO2 and Parts - Lifejacket Gas, Lights, Hoods, Lifelines, Straps - Products - Marine Warehouse Ltd

Also check flares. Just found I need to order new offshore flare pack after it expired end of last year.

Cheers for link, ASPLI do seem cheap, even after £7 postage is applied. Hope the expiry dates are reasonable. Order placed
