These are proving very popular down in Angola at the moment. Apparently they are available in B&Q but come with 5 litres of free emulsion paint which makes them a bargain. I took a pic out of the car window a few days ago to see what everyone thinks. I've already ordered mine!

The optional extra is a larger version with two eye holes cut out for the rainy season.

The tin ones rust away too fast unless there Hammerite. The premium hard hat... again with free paint.

Well guys, I have had a chat with some of the local fellas I know down here and if people are keen I can organise a group buy for anyone interest. Apparently the helmet retails at around $80 each and comes in 5 10 and 15 litre size. 25litre are special order only. Drop me pm with your bank details and I can arrange for a transfer of monies to my local counterparts account!

Bargain price I am sure.

But having another look at the fine design I am thinking do they come in Orange.??

Will the chinstrap take the pounding of a rib.?

B&Q do a big orange version of the same I think it's called a bucket. in orange for £1.00
With a metal chinstrap. and has a softwood timber bit fitted for deluxe comfort.

But all joking aside the Geko helmets for me. Not to bothered on missing out on the free paint.
Gelcoat may have persuaded me though....

Looks like its back to geko for me,,
me mates a decorater ,tryed a few of his emptys on but all too large and sloppy fit ,he says could make a bespoke one like Ned Kelly did ,

and you guys are actually worried about speding a couple extra quid for lightweight tested kevlar helmets....

Mates, over on this side of the pond, here in warm and balmy Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, we just keep a dive mask and snorkel on board to get through the fast moving weather fronts that occur here. The rain is warm and at speed very cooling in the 80 degree F. weather. Of course most of the problem comes from the sun block running into your eyes blinding you. Damn, the curse of living in a semi-tropical environment.

From PowerKiteShop. Cost IIRC - it was a couple or three years ago - was about £60 and change...£72 now.

Looks like they've changed their line up slightly...ours was called the 'Safety' helmet then but now looks more like the 'Kitesurf Safety' ... I think the only difference is the 'Kitesurf' has removable/adjustable ear protection if you need easier comms with others, whereas the 'Safety' has integral moulded ear protection
