Can you help please?

Hi there,

A friend of mine from Boats and Outboards mag said some of you may be able to help us with safety cover for a huge annual watersports charity event here in Brighton. The event is held on Saturday and Sunday 7th & 8th July. We are raising money for the RNLI, The local childrens hospital (The Rockinghorse Appeal) and SurfAid International.

Im in charge of water safety and am desperetly in need of experienced rescue ribs and crew for the weekend.

If you think you can help then please call me on 07917 410332 and i will let you know more. Full details about the event can be seen at www.paddleroundthepier.com

Many thanks in advance.

Sean

Hi

I'm sure you will get some help from Ribnet members.

Unfortunatly your event is happening on the same weekend as most of the Solent based Ribnet RIBs will anchored off Priory Bay during the now annual picnic.

Hi Harry,

All of the crews so far are donating their vessels for free but if you let me know what figures your talking about then i will talk to the team. However i dont think we can give money to some crews and not others.

It would be great if some of you can help us.

Many thanks

Sean

Ah, ok. Thanks for letting me know. Dont suppose you guys fancy having your picnic at paddle round the pier next year??? ;-)

I must admit i struggle every year to find boats. Luckily Brighon Sailing Club have cancelled their weekends racing in order to help us.

Thanks all

UWI

Paddle round the Pier is a great event. Hope you get everything sorted OK.

Drop us a line a bit earlier next year and I'm sure we'll be able to organise something!

John

Thanks John,

We raised £11k in one day for the three charities last year. Got a really great letter from the RNLI saying that their share equated to the saving of three lives at sea. It was enough for us really.

All the best

Sean
