Camel Rib - Fuel tank

Can anyone tell me what size the under deck fuel tank is on a camel rib?

Hi,

There should be an inspection hatch for the fuel sender in the deck about half way down between the left and right jockey seating. Undoing that hatch will allow you some access to the fuel tank/tanks depending on whether it was a press boat or not.

Steve, thanks for that but it is really the capacity of the tank that I am trying to find out.

I think what Steve is suggesting is open the hatch and measure. There were camel race prep boats and camel press boats that were different in spec from memory. If that included tanks I don't know though.

Failing that then the serial number and a call to the maker should suffice.

If you have the serial number then a call to ribeye may get you the info? Google shows various sizes from 120-220 litres for that hull, so not much use. Although a few references to a pair of 100 litres on camels mentioned........

*Sighs*

It's a long shot, but the previous RIBnetter known as Biffer was involved in the fitout of these craft. Maybe drop Whisper a PM as he's Connected?

My own experience with tank capacity is that it's all a bit vague. I've met precious few skippers who are sure what their tanks hold.

Mine holds 467L

I think, as said that there are various sizes of tanks. I have a ribtec 6.5 from around that period and my boat has 2 tanks. I had always believed that they each held 150 litres but found the rear tank slightly easier/cheaper to fill.
I am not sure that Ribeye will have enough information. I contacted a nice lady there a number of years ago when I was trying to get a fuel sender and after quoting my boat number I was told that my boat should have 1 x 200 litre tank
