To get a reasonable answer you're going to have to be much more specific !! Hardboat/rib, inboard/outboard, new/old etc etc

If it's a rib, most of it's covered here:-

http://www.rib.net/forum/f39/buying-...for-24685.html

Older outboards are covered here:-

http://www.ebay.co.uk/gds/Buying-an-...3868449/g.html

(the TCW3 bit doesn't apply to certain newer 2 strokes-instead use manufacturer recommended oils)

I'm undecided on a rib or a boston, reason I would go towards a boston is the extra deck space you get, looking at the 16 dauntless with a 115 on the back, I know it won't be favoured on this forum but advice would be appreciated, be a circa 2004 set up!

Depends what you want to do with it. The 16 Dauntless will be absolutely bloody horrible in Solent chop though compared to a proper V hull.

That's like saying "I'm looking at a Landrover & a Comma van & can't decide"

Not saying you have to buy a rib at all, just saying you'd be far better off with a proper hull than that Whaler unless you only ever use it on days where it's flat calm and will stay like it all day.

Does it have to be 'pretty' like those 2? You'll really struggle with 5-7 people on them.

Are brigs really badly rated? Looking at a 570 with a 90 on the back?

They are on here, not because of the boats per se, but because of the behaviour of the company. They will be forever cursed
