Brigg 645 loose screws

Just purchased a Brigg Eagle 645, the driver and passenger seat cushion screws have become loose and will not tighten, anybody else had this problem and know how to fix it??

I'm guessing brig go for the budget option of using self tappers. Your options are to fix it by using nuts and bolts to do a proper job, or fix it the same way brig fitted them but with a bigger diameter screw. If you search self tappers and the username jwalker you'll find all you need to know...
