Wow! In the article it says they are the biggest craft of their type ever built in the UK. Anyone know what's the biggest RIB ever built in the world? Assuming the UK has a much bigger and longer established RIB-building industry than any other country (?) is it these?

20 new jobs is good too! Thanks for posting the info Seb!

Delta's website says the same: http://www.deltapower.co.uk/MAIN.HTM .

Edit: sorry - thought it gave a bit more info but it doesn't!

Wonder what they'll use to power them?

No probs for the info.....i stumbled across it accidently and to be honest, had to go back and take a few more looks at the article as i couldnt believe the sheer size of the hull!!

Bound to be a few thousand horses powering them and stuffing one....well, you need to find a wave big enough first and then, youll have a cab so i doubt youd even notice - although saying that, 30 tonne running into the back of a wave at 37 knots may actually hurt!!!!!

It cant be far off the biggest RIB ever either, can it? And lets be fair, its a damn site better than a protector or the likes!! Its a DELTA!!

If anyone finds any pics of the finished boat in action, id love to see them along with everyone else on the forums i guess!!

Cheers all

I might be completely wrong but i think the engines are Yanmars, We are building a load for Delta at the minute and i have been told there going in some giant size fast rib. If they are i will find out what they are for definate.

Just found out this morning the engines are twin Yanmar 6LY. 315hp each, using a Conrad drive (not actually sure what one of those is!!). The boats are for the Dutch navy.

Not a lover of outdrives but sunseeker etc use them for boats up to 50 feet.

The boats are for BP so maybe those Yanmars are for a different contract. 2 x 315hp isnt goint to push 30 tonnes @ 37 kts, is it?? Wouldnt have though so??

2 x 1000hp maybe?
