This boat was upside down today on its roof, blew off its stand. Its a 20+ foot heavy brute of a thing.
I hate living on an island in thread winter.

Yeah it is Craignure, whole village has been battered, seen a few cars with smashed windows.
There doesn't seem to be anywhere to hide.

Well, not long got the electricity back, so been incommunicado most of the day - and cold and hungry. By dusk no trees had fallen on Moon Raker (she's surrounded by them in the garden ), but the loch was a sight to see. Wild, wild, wild. Strongest winds were westerly so we were sheltered, slightly, but there were times I couldn't walk against the wind - or even stand, when I went out to check on things.

Interesting to see that some of the more modern yachts on the moorings (40 plus footers) were almost on their beam ends in the gusts. How the hell they'd manage to hang on to a sail I don't know. No wonder there are so many LB call outs to yachts in strong winds because their engine has failed. The older designs were faring much better. Not a good day for Ribbin' though.

River Thames 2 metres below predicted tide level. We were sat on the mud. When the tide finally flowed in we were floating 20 minutes that's with a draught of 1 metre.

Had a forced run to the airport last night. Never seen the Clyde so near street level. Also white horses in the fields by the road.

Thankfully no structural damage, but managed to break the string on the recoil starter on the genny ..... Tilley lamps worked a treat tho'

Talking of gennie. I've been thinking of installing a mains crossover switch so I can run the house on a generator. Looks a simple enough conversion My mate said just use a lead with a plug on either end
