I have trodden this exact path on my nautica 19 without success ,my outcome was a length of 316 50mm angle athough it was said to me i would have been better to have a piece of polished 316 plate folded as the millscale on the angle was a lot of polishing (another skillset i learnt ) and not for the faint hearted ,the only other option i found was those cheap ish fishing chairs do seem to use a similar hinge ,but seem a little wasteful but i considered buying and slinging seat ,but i really wanted stainless
i will put a photo on the post tommorow ,instead of the rivet i used a bolt so i could take the seat back off and put indoors for winter storage

This is how i considered solving it but couldnt find a reason to throw the seat away and just use the hinges however it is poss the cheapest option
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/133789782...IAAOSwxBhg-ncl
link is to style of seat not nescesarily the cheapest

Found this too. Nice price, and we haven't got to shipping yet!

If I repair the existing, this is what I will do too. The rivets were a pain to get out!

Find a good steel fabrication shop and have them made in stainless steel. Nobody thinks about making stuff these days.

The replacement seat I ordered arrived this morning

I did go to the fabricators nearby, but they are busy for weeks

Yes i am pleased with them however you can see my over cuts as i said earlier this was a pain as i used 316 3mm thick angle (which had a serious webb in the angle of the steel),and friends in the know rightly said i would have done better getting someone to fold a bit of 2mm polished sheet as the webb was a pain as was the polishing from scratch ,just my learnings should you wish to have a go
