Back on the water

Took a spin to Montrose yesterday to meet a Ribnet member and take a look at his boat.

An hour later I'm heading home with a boat in tow and a smile on my coopin. An honest boat that has been well looked after. Everything works as it should, lights, electronics, dials and switches.

There are a couple of issues to sort but nothing major. One of the engines needs a lower unit and there is some cracking around the transom knees.

On closer inspection of the cracks it looks like a manufacturing issue, the layup is short of matting, infact it looks like all resin and no fiberglass.

Il grind it out and redo it, I can see this leading to me flow coating the transom which will lead to me doing the deck which will then lead to me doing the console.

It's looking more and more like a project.

Here it is anyway.

I was looking for something I could tinker with but actually spend more time burning fuel in it than fiberglassing and getting oily.

This fits the bill perfect.
