Avon Searider transom

Hi,
Brand new to this forum and new to rib ownership.Iam running a very old 4 metre Searider with flooding floor powered by a Tohatsu 30hp four stroke long shaft, tiller. The transom was reduced by a prior owner and I would like to return it to correct height to raise outboard engine ventilation plate, any ideas on best way to do this would be very welcome.

Plenty of posts on raising transoms. Best bet is to search this forum and the SIB forum.

My SR4 wears the same engine like your´s. Yours must be an Tohatsu MFS 30A or MFS 30B?

My transom is´nt modyfied. In it´s original height. The Tohatsu sprinkles some fountain of water over the transom into the boat.
So i tryed to fix the Engine 2 centimetres higher. Now there is not that fountain any more, and SR4 runs 3 knots faster than before.
But in narrow curves prop ventilation happens, and that was´nt before. I have´nt finished my expiriments with that. I´ll check other prop´s too. What i try to say is, if you´ll change the transom high anyway, start some higher, and expirimet the level down, if possible, and see what happens.
Nice rib you´ve got there....

Thanks for reply Palsteg, Yes ,its the MFS30B long shaft tiller, and I get plenty of spray entering rib.My transom has been reduced by 3inches so I will raise it after the summer season.
