Avon rib serial numbers?
Hi all,
I've recently purchased an old Avon rib for a local rowing club to use as a coaching boat. The problem is, for their insurance and safety audit, they need a few more details than the plates on the boat can provide. Specifically, they want to know the weight of the boat, the maximum number of people it should have in it, the year it was built etc. All I have to go on is a serial number, but I have no idea what to do with it. Unfortunately I can't get the information off the old owner as it was sold by his wife after his death, and she had even less of an idea than I do!
The serial we found on the boat is AVB76271A989. I tried getting in touch with Avon, but helpfully their website doesn't seem to have a contact email address. If anyone can help, that would be great!
