Avon - How do I contact them?

Hi All

I bought an old Avon Seamaster S3.45 and I am trying to find out where I can send the serial number to, to get the history etc.. Also trying to find a brochure etc so I can work out how best to drain and clean out the built in fuel tank, its capacity etc..

Any help.. Thanks in advance.

What was Avon in the UK is now run by Zodiac Milpro. There's a very helpful chap on their Facebook page who is based at the old factory in Wales and has been very helpful:

PS. What history are you after? If simply it's age, the year is the last two digits on the HIN (hull identification number) which is usually found on starboard side of the transom on a little plate.

PPS. I'm not aware outboard Seasports were built with built in tanks - only in the jetdrive inboard versions so this could well be a latter addition. Can you post a photo of the boat?

Hi Tim

Thanks for the info.. she must be a 94 then.

I will upload a pic tomorrow as all mine are too big to upload.. just serviced the Yamaha 30D the boat came with (glad I did!!) and just wanted more info on the boat itself.

For instance, she has 2 bungs in the transom. One is a simple drain but the lower one is below the deck.. the built in fuel tank.. does it have a drain? Found sediment in the fuel filter.. would like to clean the tank.. etc etc..

Tom from Zodiac Milpro just replied “we are no longer Avon and we do not have that information.”

Argh, that's a shame! Some photos will help. I suspect it might have had the fuel tank added later. As for drains, the lower one you describe will be the drain for the void under the deck.
